Hello my Style Star Sisters. We have to catch up. I took a leisurely stroll this past brisk Sunday. I was filled with the excitement of Spring being soo close. I could vision all the yummy vibrate colors, bags, shoes and accessories I saw gilding down the runways during NYFW. But then, something happened. A Spring snowstorm hit and all my dreams soon faded. But, we all know the good weather is right around the corner. So, I wanted to share some of my fashions highs for this Spring 2018.  Again, I always come from a place of affordability. Everyone has their spending do’s and dont’s.  And, not everything featured will be of your personal taste. So, choose wisely. Be bold and sometimes yes, even invest in pieces that are timeless.

 Investment piece

Ok, I will be the first to admit I love a great bargain. But, sometimes, when you go into a store something fabulous calls your name. Natasha, Natasha. Try me on! My sable collar cashmere wrap jacket with heavy tan belt was that piece. At first, I hated myself for desiring it. But, I looked at this wrap jacket as an investment piece. Yes, my investment piece. I can wear this as featured with liquid leggings and ankle boots for a casual look. Or, dressed up for a play and dinner.  Since, I only buy outerwear every 6 or 7 years it makes sense. This can be purchased at Cedar Lane furs in Teaneck, NJ. Price available at request.

Pretty Pastels

I admit I have the dark color year round NYC illness. I love my black, greys, and browns. So, when I noticed all the pretty pastel colors flowing down the runway, I knew this is going to be the season to pack some of my dark clothes away and walk on the lighter side.  Lilac is a big trend this season in pants suits, dresses and accessories. I just found a mauve duster on ASOS site for $60 that I will snag immediately. It’s great a Spring piece for a warmer day out. And, it’s affordable. Wear it with jeans or a flirty floral dress which is another great Spring trend.

WICKER BAGS

This trend I adore for the Spring and Summer months. I carry a heavier bag during the winter so this smaller fashionable bamboo bag from Cult Gaia is a nice way to switch it up. It retails for about $120. But, style styles, there are exact look-alikes on Ebay and other sites for as little as $30.

Be Bold

I know how important accessorizing can be. It can really make an outfit. After watching the movie Black Panther, I was impressed with the accessories just as much as the film. The necklaces were bold, large and architectually sculpted. I could take a little dress dress and Wakanda it. And, this can be done without looking like a costume. See below the fabulous necklaces I recently bought from one of my favorite designer discount stores, Fox’s.

Now, this is a great way to add interest to what could be a boring outfit. It retails for less than $22.00.

Now, my style stars I will share with you my other great recent find. Since Fox’s carrys great accessories, I go weekly. I was drawn to this necklace as shown below from Sarah Magid. This necklace is in season and still available on the official website. It’s made of light weight brass metal, gold and hematite plating. It normally retails for nearly $400 if you go to the site. I was able to snag it for….Wait, wait. $59.00. Happy birthday to Me!

So, my style star sisters. This season we can add a lighter  color combo by just adding a pastel top to a dark skirt or pant. You don’t have to look like an Easter bunny from head to toe. We can trade in our big utilitarian bags for a sculptured wicker bag that will carry us through the summer months. And, most important. We can be bold and fashionable with our accessories. I want all my style stars to please send me pics of your Spring fashion finds. How do you transition with your outerwear? What color will you rock? Or, what bold statement piece will you find? I look forward to seeing your looks. And, I will update you on other Spring finds.

Blätter-bunt

Hi style star sisters. Im baccck! There’s soo much going on here and worldwide that it’s good to sometimes escape and put the focus elsewhere like your fall clothing transition. Those cool morning breezes and strong winds may be the remnants of the horrific hurricane patterns throughout the country. I think it’s fall telling us to retire our flip flops and cold shoulder tops. Well, put the the flip flops away for next season because there are some great looks to look forward to.

BOMBER JACKETS

This look is not new but it’s has been updated from the military green bomber jacket we’re familiar with. Now ladies we have bold feminine patterns and silky textures. Take a look below at some of the bomber trends.

This is a mid price sexy off the shoulder bomber jacket from BCBG I found on line for over $100. Love the bold pattern.

MSM4J788_U44Of course,  as a style star who loves a good deal, I found many other cute bombers at other stores like JCP for under $50.00.6877020DP0503201700225174M

RED LOVE AFFAIR

Well, style stars, most designers have fallen back in love with the color red. I must admit you have to really commit fully to this color if you plan to wear a full on red assemble like shown below from Fendi. I love the fitted coat and sleek boots.

Fendi show, Runway, Autumn Winter 2017, Milan Fashion Week, Italy - 23 Feb 2017

Another gorgeous I want it right now red explosion from Fendi. 3ffb53cea5f02405e818c500482e9f60--red-fashion-fashion-check

If you are bold enough for head to toe red looks as shown above . This is how you do it. Flawless!

For those of us who do not spend our days trotting down runways in complete red looks, I suggest adding a pop of red with a great bag or shoes.

These two bags are great for work days since they can fit many items.

I love these Steve Madden shoes that are a dead ringer for the pricey Altuzarra shoe. The red stretchy boot from Madden is a great look for pants and dresses.  Looking good does not have to break your budget. Both looks can be found for less than $130.00.

FURS and FEATHERS

Ok I admit, I love the colored faux fur and sherlings many stores are carrying now. Also, feathers and shimmy dresses are in season. I  have a cute shimmy dress I bought 2 years ago for a Halloween party. I wanted to embody Tina Turner. It’s good to know I will be able to wear this again. What do you think? FB_IMG_1506438734503

Here are a few looks for the fall season that will help you spark you inner Tina and glam goddess.

These feathered looks were featured looks for fall.

Calvin Klein fall 2017

Above featured ostrich skirt from Line & Dot found at Revolve for $70. This skirt will have you doing a shimmy all night long. This cute purse or bottie can add a flirty sexy vibe to any outfit. The purse is from International Concepts for $25.

So, my style star sisters,  I hope this fall you find your inner glam goddess. Make the looks your own by trying one of the hot looks featured. See you all on the concrete runway!

Natasha

Stuart Weitzman, Carlos Santana, Steve Madden,

So style stars, the warm days and balmy nights are upon us. Time to show those bright painted toes and sexy shoulders. I’m excited about some of this seasons trends. Sleek one strap sandals, bare shoulder dresses, wide-legged pants and fringes are everywhere. My inner Tina Turner is going to come out.

The one strap sandal is a great must have for the season. Pair them with a fitted body con dress or jeans for a chic look. I found a few sandals that are worth snatching up. Steven Weitzman has pair for as low as $398. But, I like the more affordable options by Carlos Santana and Steve Madden. Both designers have the same look for as low as $50.

Here’so another look from Stuart Weitzman and Steve Madden that are a very good match too.

My other new shoe addiction are the sexy fringe sandals. Yes, all you modern day Tina Turners can step and shimmy in style. I found a pricey designer version from Aquazzura for a little under  $700. Steve Madden has almost the exact shoe for less than $150. My affordable pick is a brand I was not familiar with Chase and Chloe.  It was less than  $40. Take a good look.

The block shoe is back. I find them a bit clumsy but I found some of the new styles are worth checking out. These two styles combine the single strap and fringe trend. Let’s take a look. Both I found on line for less than $150.

Now, if you want to add a fringe hand bag, I saw a few great pieces that would bring out the bohemian goddess in all of us. My splurge item is from Farrah for $598. Gorgeous leather in a great camel color.

So, now let’s bring the attention to our shoulders. I love all the shoulder baring sexy dresses this season. There are all price ranges available so style stars will not have to break the bank.

The wide-legged pants or palazzo look is also a great look that can be casual or dressed up. Paired with an off the shoulder top for a cool sophisticated vibe is a good day time option.

Celebrity Victoria Beckham has a high end fashion line which sells tailored wide-legged pants. Below, Victoria gives us a pulled together sophisticated look you can wear for business.

My style stars have a lot to look forward to this season. Remember: bold, sexy, and flirty looks can be yours too without going broke.

2016 MET GALA

It’s that time of year everyone when the Who’s Who of Hollywood gather in New York for the Met gala. As for myself and every other fashionista, I look  forward to viewing the extravagant gowns and innovative designs that grace the carpeted steps. And, this years theme, Manus X Machina : Fashion in the Age of Technology, did not disappoint.

The theme Manus X Machina comes from the notion of couture designs being superior and more desired than the ready to wear or mass produced fashions. Yes, some couture gowns can take thousands of hours to make. Therefore, designers can slap hefty price tags for their coveted wears. Now, Manus X Machina debunks the man versus machine myth. This years gala theme explored the blurred lines in fashion to achieve something exciting and new for the future.

Whew! Now let’s talk about who actually did this successfully.  I went through numerous pics of gowns that were innovative, sexy and wearable. How ever, I noticed some gowns resembled what one would see at the Golden globes. Pretty and boring. Ugh! I promise I will just talk about those who I felt were  truly fashion forward.

WHO STOLE THE SHOW?

I must say actress Claire Danes looked like a modern day Cinderella in her Zac Posen designed ball gown. What made it even more special were the Led lights through out the entire dress. Magnificent!

Another beautiful gown was designed by Marchesa for Karolina Kurkova. It included over 150 led lights. Stunning!

Ok, the lights were impressive. But, I will now just show who I believed to be the best dressed ladies. Sexy, alluring, mysterious and just down right magical. And, they added something fresh to the evening.

Best Dressed Ladies

I absolutely loved Ciara’s fitted silver gown by H&M. Fabulous!

Kylie Jenner was stunning in Balmain at her first Met gala. Model sister Kendall Jenner was not letting Kylie steal the show in her Atelier gown.

My other stand out ladies were Alessandro Ambrosio, Beyonce in a latex design, Rita O’ra, Naomi Campbell, and Zendaya in Michael Kors. This would have been my choice for the evening. I wore something similar to to the Harlem awards. It was soo cheap I could not believe it.

Best dressed men of the evening

I must say there is nothing more sexy than a man who looks great in a suit. And, these men came out correct for the evening. My top pick was….wait for it..Idris Elba. Damn. Effortless style and he looked handsome as ever. A few other men stood out as well. Michael B. Jordan, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Tyga who wore a sparkling silver jacket. Confidence never looked better on the red carpet.

Best dressed couples at the Met

I was impressed by a few couples at the Met gala. They seemed to compliment each other not out shine one another. Just one nice package. Two for one. Don’t  you just love those deals.😃 My favorites were Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Derek Jeter and Sports Illustrated model, Hannah Davis, Gigi Hadid in Tommy Hilfiger and Zain Malik wearing a metal armed jacket by Versace . Very innovative.

Yes, there are soo many looks worth mentioning. But, you can scan pictures of Madonna’s naked butt another time. Stay tuned next week for my Spring favorite items.

Hi StyleStars!
I have lost my mind. I’m so obsessed with dresses.
Textured purple Dress $178 Cachet
Textured Purple Dress $178 Cache’

This is brand new for me. Ok here is the backstory. I was strictly a suit girl. If not a suit then definitely a blazer. I never left home without one. Back in the day it was required anchor wear. Check out the throwback photos.
WHIO THROWBACKWHIO CU
So now that those days are over. I had to move fast and re outfit my closet with dresses. And I love them. In all flavors. There are the leather accented ones.
Black Faux Leather Ponte Dress $158 Cachet
Mall favorite Cache’ has the cutest dresses -like ever! So I know by now you have something with faux leather on it. This leather trim number is $158 dollars.
I’m all about the Sheath Dress. Check out these dresses. There are The Cutouts, The Zip Fronts, The Asymmetrical ..love it! love it! love it!
Cobalt Cut Out Jacquard Sheath Dress $79 Cachet
Here is the Cutout. I recently bought a teal cutout dress. The particular one is from Cache’ on sale at $79.
Blue Zip Front Dress $188 Cachet
This pretty robin’s egg blue zip front is just waiting to bloom on a pretty spring day. It is $188 at Cache’.
Red Asymmetrical Neck Dress reg $158 on sale for $79 Cachet
And the Asymmetrical is sexy classy at $79 again on sale at Cache’.
I’m especially obsessed with unique takes on the dress. Color Block dresses were all the rage. Here is another twist using color. We all know about ombre hair, match it with the Ombre dress.
French Connection Ombre Jersey Dress $148
This flaming hot Ombre dress is by French Connection $148.
And 40 never looked so good. Diane Von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress turns 40 this year.
Diane von Furstenberg Tallulah Long Sleeve Woven Print Wrap Dress$445 Neimans
This is Furstenberg’s Tallulah. $445 Neiman’s. It is so chic and covers all flaws. No one wraps better! But Michael Kors is giving the wrap innovator a run with this number below.
Michael Kors Jersey Faux-Wrap Dress in Paprika was $1,295 now $453 Neimans
Michael Kors Faux wrap in Paprika. Even sounds delicious.

Cobalt animal Print Wrap Dress $158 Cachet
And this wrap dress has a twist. It’s got it all: metal accents, animal print, and a of course a body-hugging wrap. It is also more affordable StyleStars at Cache’ for $158. Funny I haven’t shopped in Cache’ in a while. Now my rare mall visits won’t be complete without checking in- and heading straight to the sale rack. Oh and one more thing about my dress obsession, it is mistake proof fashion. You slip on a cute dress and you are done. Flawless Fashion all in one. You grab, zip, and go. It’s polished, neat, and with the right fit extremely sexy. Oh yes I’m dress obsessed and can’t wait to step into spring dressed in a dress.
Thakoon Sleeveless Plunging Open Front $490 Neimans
This Thakoon plunging number for $490 at Neiman Marcus was a New York Fashion Week favorite.

The countdown is on– less than 3 weeks till the end of this winter from hell. In the meantime StyleStars get those dresses ready.
Ciao
Vanessa

photo (3)photo (1)Okay style stars. I admit I sometimes get caught up in a trend. And, that’s no different from all the colorblocking trends we see in every store from high end retails to the fun girl synthetic fabric selling mall magnets. Ugh. But, hey, when it’s done right, it’s soo right. What I try to always do is take a trend and mix it up. I just recently bought a pair of gorgeous multi blue suede colorblocked heels. I know a mouthful. Well, I was at first skeptical because this was an online purchase. But, when they arrived I was even happier with the vibrant colors and extra cushion for the balls of my feet. Yah! I had to share this with you. The shoes are apart of the Spring/Summer Zara collection. And, at $89.99 they’re more than what I wanted to spend, but so worth it. And, they can be worn during many seasons including fall with black tights.

I recently wore these shoes to an event at Walt Clyde Frazier’s restaurant in New York and paired them with a lovely blue dress I bought at one of my inexpensive stores for $24.99. That’s right ladies. Check me out. What do you think? I received compliments all night and a few interesting looks.

Oh Style Sisters what to wear?. I’m sure you’ve noticed dresses are the rage. And I have invested in a few. So let me grab one and get to work.. but wait what have we here. In the back of my closet I see a royal blue suede shift dress peeking out at me. Now here is a little background- I’ve had this dress for years. And no I do not subscribe to the two year rule (if you haven’t worn it in two years toss it or donate it ). In fact I haven’t worn this dress in many years. It was always too big, but it was suede and I didn’t want to part with it. So in the back of my closet it stayed until one day last week. I grabbed it. It was perfect to wear to work.
Blue Suede Dress1

Oh I anchor the news so I don’t know if you saw it and maybe said to yourself – nice dress. Well I got it by shopping… in my closet. I’m rocking it here at the anchor desk. Vanessa
